This weekend was my annual pilgrimage to the desert to play in the Las Vegas Invitational Basketball Tournament benefiting a new gym being built in Little Tokyo. This year things were a little different considering that half the team from last year wasn’t playing this year, and most of the spouses weren’t coming due to various reasons.
The condo has been on the market for two weeks now, and we’re currently on our 3rd purchase offer. The first offer came in two days after the listing went up, and was cancelled before things went into escrow because the buyer got cold feet. The next weekend came by and we had another offer on the house after a little more back and forth and we officially got into escrow this week. Lost of paper work was signed, but this time it fell through because the buyer’s financing fell through. Now we’re onto our third buyer, so we’re crossing our fingers that this was goes all the way through.
Our third buyer did fall through, and after a few weeks of no more new offers we lowered the price, and we’re in escrow with our 4th buyer. Crossing toes this time.
The condo is officially sold!
Its been almost six years since we bought our little condo in Gardena, but it was time to move on. Joy and I purchased our condo a few months after we married in 2009. For the most part it was a great place for two people to grow together where we learned to live together, do chores together, cook together, and was the starting and ending point for our days.
Back in April we had our first night without Miss Alice to attend Chrissie’s (coworker) wedding down in San Diego. It was definitely a strange but welcomed weekend considering its been 18 months since she was born.
Mother’s day started bright and early, and with a cronut while in the Disneyland parking structure.
Months ago a saw a posting about Star Wars Celebration tickets going on sale and seeing if anyone wanted to go, and of course i wanted to go. Episode VII coming out it made the event that much bigger and as the weeks went by and more and more announcements were made of guest speakers, and special panels.
Sunday night we called up Grandma, and went out for an Adult Dinner for Ben’s 36th birthday. It felt weird not having to be pushing a stroller, and be able to take a casual stroll down the street, and popup into random shops without worry about chasing after the destroyer.
Wow, its been over a month since we went to Hawaii. Pretty much what you expect from a trip, so i’m just going to go quickly over everything.
For Joy’s birthday this year i booked a special dinner at the Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand California Hotel. This was our first dinner ever at this restaurant and why not go all out and eat at the Chef’s Counter. I booked them a little late so we had to sit at the Dessert Counter side but found it just as enjoyable.
This past week, Joy’s parents who have been staying with us since halloween returned back to Thailand to return at some later date. Its been an interested time with them and i know Alice liked having them around, but i’m appreciating the quietness of the house again.
Where has the time gone? This site has become a forgotten memory with Alice taking all of my free time. So much yet happened last year that i can barely remember anything. I’ll try to search through the endless pictures of Alice to give a brief synopsis of the year.
