    Into the Phuket Water

Once awoken from out alcohol induced slumber Ning drove us to the Phuket Royal Marina to drop us off on our Monday trip to Phi Phi Islands. This would be my third time going but the first time leaving out of this specific port which is a million times better than the ones I’ve been to before. The place is the docks for the rich and famous as there are some million dollar yachts just hanging out along side the boats that were taking Joy and I out. The first stop out in the ocean is the Island where the movie the Island was shot at. Ten years ago people…

    Return to Phuket

For the second week in Thailand Joy and I took our trip to Phuket for four days. While this would be my third time there, it would be Joy’s first. Our plan for the trip was to arrive Sunday late afternoon and head down to Patong Beach to visit the tourist spot on the island, go to Phi Phi Island on Monday, Phuket FantaSea at night, and Tuesday would be a Sea Canoe tour at Phang Nga Bay. My parent’s friends invited us to stay with them while we were on the island and they kindly picked us up from the airport in the hot humid rain. While on the way…

    Beachside Bungalow

After Singapore Joy’s Aunt wanted to take us to her friend’s resort on Koh Samet, which is a four hour drive south, and another hour on a boat to a small island off the eastern coast of thailand. Its one of the places i’ve never been to, and it was everything i imagined that Koh Phuket used to be. There’s aren’t any large resorts, lots of individual bungalows, beach side eating, and very few foreign tourists. Where we were staying was on the opposite of the busier side so we had to take a taxi truck to go check out where all the people were at. Its a slow, bumpy…

    Singapore Slang

Three days in Singapore was my idea of mixing things up on this trip. Just a two hour flight south of Bangkok is the city state of Singapore. I figured that it would be some cleaner version of Thailand, but we quickly learned its much more closer to a hot and humid Japan. It seems like everyday there the weather is threatening to rain, and everyone carries an umbrella with them. This leads some extreme moisture outdoors and constantly fogged up my glasses and camera lens when stepping out onto the street. Thankfully our hotel, the Sheraton Towers had umbrellas for use and so we always grabbed one when we…

    Extended Family

I thought i would’ve had more time to write while was in Thailand but it was such a whirlwind of a trip Joy and I barely had any time to ourselves for the entire two weeks. We kept our travel plans loose because we didn’t know what all of our family’s schedule were going to be and it was a good thing too because things changed day by day. We were taken to dozen of restaurants and ate with family members of all generations which was fun but tiring. The main event for the trip happened on the second day we were there with one of Joy’s aunts basically throwing…
