    Visiting Thomas T-Rex

Saturday was another scorching day, and i’m sure like most of the other socal’ers we were trying to beat the heat anyway we could. I did what i could and chopped off my hair, but was sorely disappointed with the results. I was trying to get the fohawk that had a few years, ago, but it ended up being more of just a buzz cut, and the funniest thing was that my mom actually said she preferred me with the longer hair style, even though she’s been lobbying me to cut it for months now. Thats just sad, thankfully hair grows back. We met up with the Wangs for lunch at Schezwan Palace…

    Did somebody ask for lasers?

WORK decided that it was finally time for the office warming party, too bad it happened a year and a half after we moved in, and possibly five months before we move out. More on that later. DJ Beezer was kind enough to bring over his fricken lasers, turn tables, and fog machine. We bought 7 heineken kegs, a bottle of vodka, and rum to keep the party going, and on and on it kept and going until about 1 in the morning. When the last guests left, DJ Beezer let the fog machine rip, and filled the entire office with smoke, and subsequently set off the fire alarm. We…

    Universal Loves Mexicans

I’m not being racists but seriously, who do you think they’re catering to here, the Japanese? I don’t even see some Mexican restaurants sell Modello let alone a theme park. I don’t have any problem with that, but it is interesting to see some 40+ ladies walking around with a big plastic cup of beer. Joy and I went to kill some hours yesterday and used our buy a day pass to ride the new Simpsons ride. I really hoped it was going to be a real roller coaster, but i knew it was just going to be a rethemed Back to the Future ride. The line was 40 minutes…

    Morning Gloom

Amazing how 48 minutes can completely change a cities mood. Within three minutes the Lakers Celtics Finals went from all even to, looks like the Celtics are going to take it this year. I was so depressed that we had to get out and just take a walk down to Blockbuster video to clear our heads. Sadly i had to break the news to some older gentleman that the Lakers lost, and i honestly thought he was going to have a heart attack. The smiley face is an E-mail i got from a client who hates the lakers. It did not brighten my day.

Put it in the Jackson Hole

Yes finally after months of sorting through multiple gigs of videos and pictures i finally finished my video my Jackson Hole trip. It took many weeks to edit, add the right music, and edit it some more to get it to a point where it best represents the trip. So now i present Jackson Hole, Wy 2008. It is a bit long (7.5 mins), and is best with the sound on, so please sit back, get comfortable and enjoy the movie.

    On the job shooting

The big day for Andy and Jen arrived, and perhaps an even bigger day for me. I knew that i’ve shot thousands of photos before but none as moment specific as this. After the day was over my batteries were dead, my laptop was full, and my body felt like it just ran a marathon. I hope that my sister did well with her wedding, because i even had Joy shooting with me, and still felt like we were all over the place, i couldn’t imagine doing it solo. I learned a lot, and still have a ton to learn for future photography, but i don’t know if i’m willing…

    Still a sucker

Out of all the types of marketing, i still enjoy getting some direct mail pieces. Something about the surprise of opening a sealed envelope is still fun, and this week it worked twice, or at is going to. First in the mail we got a “special offer” from Roy’s, where we ate for Joy’s birthday, that had a $20 gift card in it, score! Then i got in the mail a few days later for a special subscription offer from Los Angeles Magazine for “westsiders” a special of 24 (not 12) issues for only $9.95. I’ve actually been thinking about getting a subscription, so now i just might. If not…

    Out and about Saturday

Saturday ended up being one of the longest days in recent memories. Even if we did get to sleep in. We woke up made breakfast then headed to Topanga Canyon to hike the backside of the Santa Monica Mountains. Its a pretty interesting network of hikes that can take you all the back to sunset if you go the right way. Thankfully it wasn’t that hot since we went out at noon, and had to fight a group of old Koreans, and some overgrown brush blocking the path. Overall i think the hike was around 4 miles, and took about an hour and a half to complete. Of course in…

    Bowl for the Cure

Saturday at the bowl wasn’t a classic bowl event since The Cure was a “leased” event and not an official bowl concert meaning that you couldn’t bring in your own alcohol, which also meant that there were a ton of people that didn’t know the rules. There were hundreds of people outside the gates getting their booze on before they could go inside. Interestingly enough they do sell bottles of wine, but wont let you bring the glass out so they dump all the wine into huge big gulp like cups to bring to the seating area. We settled for a few beers instead. I have to remember that at…
